Why Sticky Slat?
The Idea of Sticky Slat, took a few years to be born.
At first I got fascinated of Minicruiser/ Penny Boards from my best friend. They are funny to ride once you know how to bend standing on it.
As a learned Carpenter I said to myself, I want to build one of these from wood. A few months later the first handmade solid Minicruiser from Plum wood was born.
I really learned to love this small little skateboard. I took it everywhere and it had was such a good portability. All the places that were around, which I normally went by public transport I went with the Board.
There was only one thing I was not happy about these boards... Even if they are small and compact it was annyoing for me to always either carry the street dirty board in my hands when I cant ride it or to fix it on my backpack in a complicated way.
So I said to myself, there has to be a way to attach your board in a very easy and handy way on your backpack. That was the Moment the idea of a magnetic board that you can just put on your backpack with one hand and also take it off with one hand. You can run and jump and it wont fell off. An other very importent factor I wanted to imply into this idea was, that If you like the Idea of a Sticky Slat and you buy one, you dont have to buy a new backpack which is only compatible with this board too. I wanted this Board to be able to be attached to almost every backpack and simply can be upgraded.
So these are my about 100 handmade, made in Austria, Sticky Slat Prototypes, which I hope give you as much joy as I had producing them and riding them.
